ARCHIVE / CONTRIBUTE
Keep the work in circulation.
LDF Archive brings together images, writing and records of independent fashion. A place to return to the work, understand how it was made and notice what it tells us about its time.
New work. Older work. Work worth keeping.
You can submit an editorial, a conversation, a collection, an essay or a useful record of practice. Previously published work is welcome. Exclusivity is not required; give the original date, publication and credits, and make sure you have permission to share it.
We are interested in independent fashion and the conditions around it: research, making, images, working lives and the small changes that may reveal something larger. A precise observation can make a wider change visible.
Why here?
A standalone post is easy to lose. In the Archive, your work sits beside related designers, processes and ideas, with a stable page, a public byline, full credits and links to its original publication. Readers can search and return to it; designers, students and other contributors can find connections across the collection. You retain ownership and can publish elsewhere.
Find your category.
These are the Archive’s category names. Open one for guidance and examples. The editor can confirm the final classification.
Fashion Editorial+
Fashion stories told through images: a considered sequence, a point of view and full garment and team credits.
Design Process Interview+
Conversations that reveal how a designer works: research, references, materials, experiments and decisions behind a collection.
Rising+
Profiles of emerging independent designers and practices, grounded in their actual work rather than a promotional biography.
Words of advice+
Useful knowledge from practice: methods, lessons, tools and candid accounts of what did or did not work.
Recap+
A documented account of a show, exhibition, event or collaboration: what happened, who took part and what deserves to remain.
OPINION+
Essays and criticism on independent fashion and its conditions. Start from specific observations; distinguish evidence from interpretation.
Fiction+
Fiction, satire and imagined correspondence that say something about fashion, work or the present. Identify the work as fiction in your submission.
Suggest a category+
Does the work belong under Campaigns, Lookbooks or another category? Suggest a name in the editor. Milan can accept it, refine it or place the work in an existing category. Suggestions do not create public categories automatically.
Before you submit
What makes a useful contribution?+
Show the work and give it context: who, what, where, when and why it matters to the practice. Name collaborators, garments and sources. For essays, support factual claims and distinguish interpretation from reporting. For images, use a considered sequence and readable files. A press release without a developed story or useful documentation is unlikely to be enough.
Older work and previous publication+
There is no recency requirement. Give the work’s original year and, when applicable, where it first appeared and a source link. Do not present an old event as upcoming. Credit the original team and publication. Previously published does not mean free to reuse: obtain permission from the people who hold the rights.
AI use: disclose the role+
AI assistance is not an automatic reason to decline a submission. Declare whether it was used for research, writing, editing, translation or images. An AI-assisted label will appear with published work, specifying the roles you select. You remain responsible for the facts, sources, quotations, permissions and credits. Do not present generated material as documentary evidence.
Review, editing and publication+
Your submission stays private while Milan reviews it. Consent to editorial review and edits is required: titles, text, captions, layout and category may be revised before publication. Editing should respect the work’s meaning and attribution; we may contact you for clarification or further revisions. Only work approved by the editor is published. There is no promised publication date.
Using the editor+
No account is needed. Add text and image blocks, move them into order, choose a cover and check Preview. Upload up to 12 JPEG, PNG or WebP images, 5 MB each and 24 MB total; share private download links for larger originals or film. Drafts save in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to LDF until you confirm permissions and submit.
Take a look, try a layout, come back to it. Opening the editor does not submit anything.
